Happy Halloween everyone!

Oh how I wish we had this awesome holiday here in Israel, it always looks so fun and I just love the spooky decorations and costumes.

So I thought I should try to create another Halloween inspired nail art while I still can, and this is what I came up with.

I created this textured spiderwebs nail art with black and orange textured polishes, and stamped silver spiderwebs design over it. I really love how this turned out, and I hope you'll like it too. 

My previous Halloween manicure got many great comments and was shared by so many people, which I really appreciate and was super happy about by the way, so thank you all so much!

For this manicure I used two textured polishes - Zoya Destiny and Chic Sugar Baby 07, and created a gradient with these two colors. This was my first attempt creating a gradient with textured polishes, I was prepared for a hard and messy work but this turned out to be quite easy. I decided to use a bit different technique for this, I painted each half of the nail with a different color. Once the polish was relatively dry, I sponged both colors over the middle to merge the colors. I have to admit that I am pretty pleased with this gradient.

Once the base was dry, I stamped a spiderweb design from Bunny Nails HD04 plate with Essie No Place Like Chrome. I didn't use any top coat for this design to preserve the textured effect.

I wanted to show you a little closeup of Chic Sugar Baby 07, just to show you that it's not a regular black sand polish, but it actually consist of tiny shreds of glitter / micro flakes in various colors like orange, blue and pink, all mixed up in a black jelly base. I tried to capture the polish on the brush so you could see how beautiful and interesting this colors is. When it dries it also shows all these colors, but it's a bit hard to capture. A while ago I posted a macro shot of this polish on Instagram, so you can check this photo to get a better idea of how this polish looks like.

El Corazon -Top Fireworks №421/8 is a silver holographic glitter top coat, consists of shredded glitter and small hex glitter in clear base. This polish contains a generous amount of glitter which makes it very easy to apply evenly with a few strokes. Unlike other shredded glitter top coats I've tried before, this one was relatively smooth even before I applied a top coat.

The glitter was so sparkly and beautiful, even in shade. I was so impressed by this polish and it's amazing effect, believe me it's even prettier in person!

First things first, let's get to the review. Last week I received an awesome nail mail from Incoco, including three sets of their nail polish strips, which I will be reviewing at the blog.
The first set that I will be reviewing today is Sweet Sangria, it's a classy design in raspberry shade with a geometric design at the bottom of the nail.

In case you were wondering, Incoco's nail strips are not just pretty stickers - they are actually made of real nail polish in a dry strip form, with base coat, color coat and top coat compressed into one layer.
Believe me, if you only used simple nail stickers so far, when you'll try real nail polish strips, you will feel the difference!

The Sweet Sangria nail polish strips set includes a total of 16 double ended appliques in different sizes, 8 for each hand so you can pick the size that fits your nails best. The nail polish strips are sealed in an airtight package, so you will need to use them right after you open the package, otherwise they will dry out and most likely will not be useable.

As for application, it is very simple and similar to other nail strips. You can see the full instructions at Incococ's How to Apply page.
I didn't have much trouble finding the right size for each nail, although I did had to stretch some of them a bit to get a perfect fit, but that was easily done since the strips were elastic and relatively thick. Yet you need to be careful not to pull them too much, or else they will tear.
Once I applied the strip to each nail, I filed off the excess with the nail file that was provided with the set (not in photos). The whole application took me less then 10 minutes per hand, that might be a bit long but I preferred to work slowly and carefully, and when I was finished - I had a perfect manicure that was completely dry and I was ready to go!


You are probably curious about the wear time, so I should start by saying that I rarely keep a design on my nails longer than two or three days, so my wear-test with these strips isn't very accurate. I wore them for about two days, and I barely noticed any changes from when I first applied them. I can tell you tho that I am currently wearing another Incoco's design, this is the 4th day and they are holding up great. I intend on keeping them for three more days, and I should be able to report the results at my next Incoco post.


My overall opinion on Incoco's nail polish strips so far is great! I like the easy application, the great colors and patterns they offer, and it seems like they are actually long lasting. I think these are perfect to use if you are going on vacation and you don't want to bring a bunch of products with you, or if you are in a hurry and have to get your nails done quickly and have professional looking manicure.

This week I got the chance to review one of the colors from the new Crystallic Matte Nail Color collection from the Israeli brand GA-DE. This textured collection is a the latest addition to the brand's range of colors, the effect is very similar to the well known Liquid Sand by OPI.
As you probably already noticed, the Liquid Sand / Crystal / Sugar effect is one of the hottest trends, and I previously tried these polishes by various brands such as OPI, Zoya, Dance Legend, and even the Israeli brand Chic which released a similar collection a while ago.
Despite the fact that there's not much innovation in this, it's still exciting for me to see that the Israeli brands are keeping up with the rest of the word and launching new trendy collections.
 

GA-DE Gold Sugar has an impressive gold sand effect. This polish consists of gold micro glitter that dries to a gritty finish with a crystal-like look. The formula was pretty dense, which allowed to achieve a relatively good coverage with one coat, although I proffered to use two coats for a perfect coverage. Drying time was quite fast, instructions recommend to wait about five minutes to let it completely dry into the crystal finish.
I have to admit that I wasn't expecting too much from this polish, since I have tried several brands with this effect, but I was surprised with how great it looked on the nails. I think it did a great job and gives the nails a luxurious look without an effort.

Going through my collection, it was easy to notice that GA-DE Gold Sugar is very similar to
OPI Honey Ryder, so I decided to compare these two side by side. I took some closeup photos, but the differences don't translate very well to the photos, and they are a bit more noticeable in real life.

I have noticed that there a few differences, first is that OPI's shade is a bit warmer and more yellow tones, and the formula is thicker than GA-DE's, which makes OPI a one-coater while GA-DE requires two coats.

GA-DE's polish consists of micro glitter and some small hex glitter, and while it seems at first look that OPI's polish consists of micro glitter alone, at a closer look I have noticed that it also contains a tiny glitter, much smaller than GA-DE's, and barely noticeable.

I came to a conclusion that despite the minor differences, these two colors are very much alike, and that GA-DE Gold Sugar is a pretty close to be a dupe of OPI Honey Ryder.

This year I decided to participate in the Halloween spirit and came up with this graveyard manicure. I am sooo happy with how it came out, I'm really excited to share it with you and hear what you think about this design. So let's get to it!


I started this manicure with two coats of Zoya Storm, a black scattered holographic polish. I wanted to create a bright background for my stamping, so I sponged Sinful Shine Royal Flush on the tips. It looks like a bright pink in the sun, but in shade it has a dusty berry color. I chose this polish because it's very pigmented, so I don't end up using a lot of it to achieve a good coverage over the black base.
For the stamping I used Konad Black and stamped the graveyard design from the Bunny Nails Holiday plate HD04, from last year's holiday collection.
I decided to add some glitter above the stamped design, where the two colors were overlapping, so it would look a bit more sparkly. I applied a bit of GK 734A over it, which is a fine silver holographic glitter. I topped it all with one coat of Poshe.



For me it was a very successful manicure, I really enjoyed creating it and the finished look was just awesome! It's been a while since I used stamping for my nail art, and I really missed it. I've been too busy swatching and reviewing lately, that I forgot how much fun it is just to create a design for myself.

Recently OPI launched a new limited edition collection under the name Miss Universe, and today I am happy to share with you my swatches and review of my favorite color from this collection.

Miss You-Niverse is a dark black plum creme, a gorgeous and rich color with a fantastic formula. This time I actually feel the need to compliment this formula more than usual.
With the application of the first stroke, I just knew that this one is a winner. The formula of this rich color was incredible, and for me it was a perfect one-coater. It dried really fast and with an impressive glossy finish. It is rarely that I apply only one coat of color, but this polish aced the tests and now it's one of my favorites in the collection.

OPI Miss Universe collection includes three colors:

I'm Feeling Sashy - Dusky purple
This Gown Needs A Crown - Textured satin platinum
Miss You-Niverse - Deep black plum

Although summer is behind us, today's heat wave reminded me of these bright and fun colors by Color Club which I haven't showed you yet.
The four colors which I got to review are from Color Club Kaleidoscope Collection for spring / summer of 2013.
These colors might not seem like the most innovative at first sight, but I think these are great basic color that should be in everyone's collection. I was very impressed by their formula which to me was easy to apply and once dried, the finish was impressively glossy.

Evolution is a light blue creme, a great sky-blue color. The formula was great and with just two coats I got a perfect coverage. I really like these shades of blue, I have a few lighter versions of this color but not this exact one, so I was happy to add it to my collection.

Endless is a light pink creme, a perfect baby pink shade. As it is a light color, I expected it to need more than two coats to get it completely opaque, but it surprised me with a perfect coverage with just two easy coats.
I used this color as a base for a floral nail art that I showed at this post, and I really loved it by itself and how great it worked as the base for the design.

In Theory is a gorgeous coral crelly (creme-jelly formula), this color is very bright and looks gorgeous on the nails. I really love coral shades, and I think this one must be one of the prettiest corals I've seen.

I found the formula to be a bit sheer, so I applied three thin coats to achieve this look. Although the sheer formula usually is a turn off for me, this gorgeous color easily compensates for it.

Pearl-spective is an iridescent top coat. It contains micro flakes that shift color from pink to blue. I think the effect shows stronger over darker colors, but it's also a lovely addition to light colors as well. I applied just one coat over black to get this look. As you can see it's really beautiful and the color shifting effect is strong.

In today's post I am going to share with you another trio from the Princess Collection by FUN Lacquer. For this time I chose three colors in blue and green tones, these colors just look like they can work great as ombre skittle mani, and of course they are beautiful on their own.
This time I decided to skip to top coat part, I felt like these colors had a bit more shine to them. and I felt like the glossy finish didn't really translate to the photos from the previous post.
These colors also had a quite subtle holographic effect, but I find that with these colors he effect is more impressive in person.

Jasmine is a light turquoise that leans more to the blue tones. Compared to the two colors in this post, this one has a relatively stronger holographic effect.
This color reminded me of Pupa Sky Blue, although I find that Pupa had a stronger effect.
For the photos below I applied two coats, no top coat.

Ariel is a turquoise base with a delicate holographic effect. The macro shot of the sparkly effect in the first photo just looks like mermaid's tail, and I think this color is a perfect match to it's name.

I applied two coats, the formula was great and opaque, but I was disapointed to find out it left my nails badly stained. I admit - I didn't wear any base coat underneath it (as I do now with all my swatches) but it stained my nails pretty bad, and I only wore it for about ten minutes or so. I would strongly recommend wearing it with a good base coat or even two, just to be sure.

Cinderella is sky blue base with a subtle holo effect. It's a lovely color, although the holographic effect is barely noticeable in my photos.

I was surprised to find that it had a quite opaque formula, so I only needed two coats here as well.
