Guest Post - My Awesome Beauty

For today's guest post I'm happy to have the awesome Sophie from My Awesome Beauty blog that you probably all know. Sophie's blog was one of the first blogs I've followed and she really inspired me. Looking at her perfect manicures and swatches made me finally start my own blog a while back ago, and I'm so happy I did! Not only Sophie is a great blogger and nail artist, but she's also super creative and a talented photographer, she makes really cool and easy-to-make tutorials and have I told you she has won the BeautyBlogger of the year award? If you haven't seen her blog yet, now is the time!

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much Natalie for giving me this opportunity. You have a wonderful blog and I love getting to be a part of it. :)

When I started my blog a little over a year ago, I set out to be known for something within the nail world. The first couple of months was just swatching and trying to find "my" photography style, but then I discovered striping tape.

In a matter of months I had made a whole ton of striping tape nail designs and that's what my blog got known for. The reason I like using striping tape instead of regular household tape is that you don't have to wait nearly as long because the striping tape is less sticky.

With this look, I started off with two coats of a while polish. After these two coats, I started hunting for my striping tape which I couldn't find anywhere. I looked and looked until I finally settled on using normal household tape. After 30 minutes, I cut a few pieces of tape off and used them on my hand a few times to unstickify (is that a word?) them and it it went fine. For the yellow color, I had to wait even longer, maybe 45 minutes or so. After I put the black color on, I had to wait 1,5 hours to even dare to try, and even then it got ruined! The tape brought up the color with it.

I got SO annoyed and started hunting for my striping tape again. After the whole apartment was upside down, I found it in my nail design-equipment drawer. Sigh.

I removed the whole thing and started over. It took me 1 hour in total and I was done. Ai ai, striping tape, how I love you.

I would love to see you all visit me over at my blog, My Awesome Beauty, some day, and thank you again for this opportunity, Natalie.

Awesome Sophie
