I couldn't resist the beautiful and sparkly Zoya Blaze that sat on my table along with all the new and unswatched polishes, and now I know it's even more beautiful on the nails!

Zoya Blaze is a is a plumberry red with tiny scattered holo flakes. It's formula is somewhere between jelly and creme, but two coats provided great coverage. I also applied one coat of Poshe for these photos. I really love how these holo particles sparkle in the sun and even in other lighting they are just fabulous. What can I say, I loved it! :D

St. Patrick's Inspired design

This design was inspired by the upcoming St. Patrick’s day.
On all of the fingers I applied 2 coats of OPI – Live and Let Die from the James Bond collection, a dark green with a gold shimmer. One coat was pretty opaque but I applied two just in case. But on the ring finger I used the amazing Zoya – Storm. I love this polish! Here I used 2 coats.
For the stamping I used Barry M – Gold Foil, with Nailz Craze Stamping Plate NC01. I actually filled in the hearts on the ring finger, I used a very short and thin brush to paint within the hearts, and added  a stem to make it look like a clover.
I really like how this came out! What do you think?

Recently the Israeli brand GA-DE Cosmetics released a new addition to their line of nail polish, and of course I grabbed some of them for myself.

This company has various finishes and a large selection of colors, but nothing really had me excited  until this collection came out. I have a lot of their polishes and I really love this brand, so I would be happy to recommend them to you.

Green Garnet 821 is a shimmery dark green which I think might be a dupe for Essie Dive Bar. This color is really rich and gorgeous, it even looks a bit duo chrome in the bottle but it didn't really show on the nails. 

I'm not a big fan of greens but this color is definatly wearable for me and Iliked it!

For this photo I used 2 coats, no top coat.

Green Saphire 820 is a duo chrome shimmery green that reminded me of China Glaze Unpredictable from the Bohemian collection. I wouldn't say this is a dupe because I think it's a bit darker, but defiantly looks like is could be another color from this collection. This is also 2 coats, no top coat.

Gold Dust 813 is a glass flecked polish consist of tiny gold and red tiny flakes is a slightly tinted base. I couldn't tell the color of the base since it was very sheer, but it wasn't clear either. I needed 3 coats for a good coverage.

This one could be a perfect dupe for PUPA 809 Gold Deco from the new Diamond Deco collection (PUPA's collection includes 4 shades, and it looks like GA-DE have the dupes for all four of them, 3 of them are quite the same and another one is a bit different but still could be a good alternative).

Tangerine Garnet 815 is the same as Gold Dust but the base is more pink/red tinted. It looks like the glass flecks in these two polishes are the same, but because of the tinted base it looks different. The final color on the nails is somewhere between orange and brown. This is dupe for PUPA 810 Copper Deco. I only needed 2 coats, no top coat.

Gypsy Fever 816 is has the same pink/red base color as Tangerine Garnet but the glass flecks in it are mainly red and some are silver/light blue. Actually it's really interesting how these polishes have different combinations of the same base color and glass flecks, and they create these different shades. This one is not a dupe so there's something nice about that :) Also used 2 coats for the photos, no top coat.

For some reason I really love dupes, but I was mainly happy to see something different from GA-DE Cosmetics. We rarely get to see something interesting around here from Israeli brands, and this was refreshing even though we have PUPA's collection here as well, but somehow this gives me hope that we will be seeing more interesting colors and finishes from this brand.

Green is not my go to color, and I rarely wear it, but this combination was just too fabulous to ignore, so I decided to create this green gemstones mani.

I started with two coats of GADE Green Garnet which is a dark shimmery green (actually reminds me a lot of Essie Dive Bar, but I don't own it so I can't really compare the two). Then I applied two coats of Nfu Oh 50 which has gorgeous green flakes in a light purple jelly base. I stamped the gemstones design from Nailz Craze NC04 plate with Essie No Place Like Chrome. Topped it all with one coat of Poshe.

The final result was so pretty and it's so fun to look at it in different lighting while the flakes shift their color. I even managed to snap a photo that shows how they change from green to blue.

Nail Craze or Crazy Obsession?

Craze: An enthusiasm for a particular activity or object that typically achieves widespread but short-lived popularity.

Is DIY Nail Art destined to be just a phase or is it a form of true artistic expression that will continue to evolve into popular culture? With more stamping plates, polishes, decals, and techniques being developed every day, could this turn some of us from enthusiastic collectors into crazy obsessives? I say yes and I wonder if some day there will be girls sitting in their psychologist’s office discussing their inability to stop buying nail polish. I had visions of solemn men flashing up ink blot cards and asking these women to reveal their inner secrets in order to be cured from their polish addictions. And from there came this idea for Rorschach or ink blot nails. Read on for a glimpse into the mind of a nail crazed Drama Queen……

So are you wondering right now if you might be a little nail crazed? There is a strong possibility that I am, but thankfully I think my crazy obsession isn’t fully blown and you won’t find me rocking back and forth in a psychologists office just yet. So that brings me to ask you, what do you see in the ink blots?

I decided to make another Valentine's Day mani, and I'm happy I did because I just love how this came out!

It took me a while making this design, but it was worth the time I spent on it.

For this design I used the fabulous plate from Messy Mension MM03, both the hearts and the words are on this plate so it has everything you need to create this look.

I applied two coats of Lime Crime Milky Ways as a base for this design, I wanted something neutral so the pastel colors wouldn't be pale on it but still be visible on that color.

I picked a few of my favorite pastels for the hearts, even though they were pretty sheer and all of them require two coats (if applied on the nail), somehow they worked out for the stamping, which was surprising and pretty great! I didn't need to fill the hearts since there were no bald spots.

Then I stamped the words in the middle of the hearts with a red polish, staying true to the real heart candy :) After it dried I applied one coat of Poshe. I was thinking about adding a fine glitter coat but I'm happy I didn't. I think I might mattify it later on, but not sure about that either since I really love how this looks right now.

These are the polishes that were used for this design (L-R):

GADE Rodeo Drive, GADE Marshmallow, Barry M Peach Melba, Lime Crime Milky Ways, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Luci Darling 02.

I couldn't ignore all the love that's in the air, so I came up with this sweet and simple design.
Actually it's the first time I've used these polishes and the stamp, all of them are "untried" ;)
I applied two coats of China Glaze Pink Plumeria, which is a neon peachy pink (it was actually really hard to get it's true color on camera, it looks very different in the sun and in the shade, so I put a few photos so you can see the difference). This color is really sweet and it has some pearly or shimmery effect to it.
Over Pink Plumeria I applied once coat of Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter, it's a multicolored glitter in a pink jelly base. These two colors actually were a pretty good match, so I decided to use them together. I think you can achieve a good coverage by layering SC Pinky Glitter on it's own, but it would probably take too many layers since the base is quite sheer.
Then I stamped over it the lovely hearts pattern from Messy Mension MM03 plate which has these beautiful valentine's day themed designs. I used Konad black for the stamping, and once dried I applied one coat of Poshe.
There you have it, a sweet and simple design for Valentine's day! I can think of endless combinations of colors for this lovely stamp ;) I plan on making another V Day design with this plate next.
As I said, it was pretty hard capturing the true color of this polish, but I think the pictures that were taken in shade look much better than the ones I took in the sun. The color is much more accurate and you can actually see the lovely glitter underneath that stamp.

Love is in the air

Hey girls!!
A few weeks ago, Natalie asked me if I'd like to do a guest post for her. I was so thrilled!
As Valentine's day is fast approaching, I decided to do something on this theme. I used two of Natalie's amazing plates : the NC01 and the brand new NC04.
I applied two coats of Halo-Graphic, a gorgeous pink holo by Color Club and painted my ring finger in black. I worked with all of the heart shaped designs of both of the plates and here's the result:

As usual, the quality of the plates is amazing!!

Once again I decided to go with something simple but gorgeous, so I picked Essie Leading Lady for that mission. I didn't really had time for stamping or anything complicated this time, so this was a great option for me since this polish is so pretty on it's own.

Essie Leading Lady is a red jelly with small red glitter. It instantly reminded me of my all time favorite China Glaze Ruby Pumps, but this one it a bit darker, so I decided to get this beauty too.

Application was a bit too streaky for my taste, as it was with Essie Beyond Cozy, but it might have been like that only for me since I haven't read any other complaints about their formula. I recall that CG Ruby Pumps was much easier to apply, but I guess that was because the glitter in it was much smaller compared to Essie Leading Lady.

I needed only two coats to get this look, and one top coat of Poshe. I was very pleased with the result. It was so gorgeous on the nails that it made me forget about the tiny trouble I had while applying it, so I think it's a good one after all.

Essie Leading Lady is a very popular color from the Winter 2012 collection and I can assume that most of you probably have it in your collection by now. I would say it is a bit different than CG Ruby Pumps but I think I still prefer Ruby Pumps since it's formula was better to me. But still, having them both in my collections couldn't harm, right? You can never have enough sf a gorgeous sparkly red polish. ;)
